I have been a little busy!

Gosh, where on earth has time gone.  Last time I looked it was late spring and things were going so well!  Then I lost focus and before I knew it there had been 10 months since my last post.  In that time, I have delivered work to 3 galleries which has been wonderful.  We have had a second open studios event at Wimbledon.  I begin to feel as if I know the ropes a bit now and, while the second event was less successful from the point of view of sales, I thoroughly enjoyed talking to people who expressed interested in my work and this gave me several ideas for new avenues to explore.

By far the most exciting thing that has happened, and the most exhausting, has been embarking on a diploma in ceramics with London Metropolitan University and based at City Lit in London.  The course is technically part time but in my case the research and writing up takes me the remains of the week, leaving little time for anything else.  It is a wonderful course.  The tutors really know their stuff and are extremely generous about sharing their knowledge.  It is an incredibly intense course with 17 students working flat out to create the requisite work to gain satisfactory results in each module for each of 4 semesters but I am completely confident that, by the time I finish the course, I am going to have gained so much knowledge and understanding of ceramics that I will feel like a fully fledged artist with a repertoire that is all my own and a clear understanding of where my art is heading.  In the meantime, I am busy trying to work it all out and take it all in but I am having the greatest time doing it!
